Our Story
Founded by Brazilian-born Thais Pantigas, Tais Hair Studio is a reflection of her lifelong dedication to hairdressing. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Thais grew up surrounded by the beauty industry, with her mother managing a renowned hair salon for over 33 years. Thais discovered her talent early, picking up the scissors at age 14. Her flair and creativity led her to specialize in both hairdressing and skin and body care, working with one of Brazil’s most esteemed beauty institutes, Anna Pegova.
In 2007, Thais moved to Australia, where she fell in love with the vibrant community of Annandale. After excelling in her training at TAFE, winning the Sydney TAFE Achievement Award, she set out to bring her passion for exceptional hairdressing to Sydney’s Inner West.

Thais ( Taïs )
Creative Director and Owner
Thais Pantigas is a highly skilled and innovative stylist specialising in curly hair, colour, and education. With her unique Brazilian Free Hand Techniques and Dry Cutting methods, she works with all hair types, combining advanced techniques such as Rëzo Cutting, Clever Curl, Curl by Curl Cut, and Cādo Cut to create personalized, flawless styles.
Known for her expertise in curly hair cutting and curl painting (also known as balayage), Thais has developed her own distinctive approach to achieving natural, beautifully sculpted curls. Her signature techniques are designed to enhance the individuality of each client’s hair, creating a look that feels both fresh and effortless.
"I find great joy in helping my clients discover their personal style," says Thais. "Hairdressing allows me to connect with people and empower them through their hair."
Thais is also passionate about sharing her knowledge with others, offering education and training to aspiring stylists looking to perfect their craft in curly hair and color.
Tabita
Make up Artist and Bridal and event specialist
Tabita is our skilled freelance hair and makeup artist, available for bridal, event, and formal styling. She works both on-location and at Tais Hair Studio or Rockdale, bringing a stylish and pleasant approach to every appointment. From flawless make ups to beautiful up styles for any event and bridal hair, Tabita ensures every client feels their best for any special occasion.
Yasmine
Curly Hair Specialist and colour enthusiast
Originally from Belgium, Yasmine brings a unique blend of luxury fashion industry experience and a deep passion for hairdressing to Tais Hair Studio. As a curly hair specialist, she’s dedicated to helping clients embrace and love their natural texture through beautiful shapes, colors, and personalized curly hair routines. While she is still refining her color skills, Yasmine is passionate about creating stunning balayage and color transformations. Her calming presence and enthusiasm empower her clients to feel confident and reconnected with their curls. Yasmine’s commitment to educating curly girls on maintaining healthy, gorgeous hair is at the heart of everything she does.
Juliana
Senior Stylist
Originally from Brazil, Juliana is a curly hair specialist with over 14 years of experience working with textured hair, including waves, curls, coils, and afro hair.
She brings strong expertise in Brazilian wet cutting techniques for curly hair and is currently refining her skills in dry curl cutting to enhance natural shape, balance, and volume. Her approach focuses on creating personalised curly haircuts that work with each client’s natural pattern and lifestyle.
As a curly girl herself, Juliana understands the needs of textured hair and is passionate about helping clients achieve healthy, defined, and manageable curls.
Known for her easy-going personality and positive energy, Juliana creates a relaxed and welcoming salon experience. She loves a good vibe, enjoys a laugh, and brings a touch of Brazilian warmth especially when there’s a bit of samba playing.
Rafaela
Curly hair specialist and stylist
Rafaela is our calm and talented curly hair expert, bringing a touch of Brazilian charm to every styling session. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for curly hair, Rafaela works alongside Thais to create beautiful, customized looks for each client. Her quiet confidence and friendly smile make her a warm and welcoming presence in the salon. Whether she’s assisting with a complex style or ensuring everything runs smoothly at reception, Rafaela’s dedication to her craft and clients is evident in everything she does.
Nicole
Senior Curly Hair Stylist
A talented Brazilian stylist and former vet, Nicole specializes in cutting and styling curly hair, with a particular skill on short curly styles and balayage for textured hair. Her skills shine through in the amazing shapes and transformative curly styles she creates every day at Tais Hair Studio. As the salon floor manager, Nicole quietly supports the team, ensuring everything runs smoothly with her calm and steady presence. With her expertise and easy-going nature, Nicole will make you feel comfortable and confident in her hands
Chantra
Salon Support
Chantra is the friendly and bubbly personality behind the scenes at Tais Hair Studio, ensuring the salon is always clean and organized. Originally from Cambodia, she is currently studying salon assistance at Tafe and is constantly learning and improving. While she speaks limited English, Chantra’s dedication and positive attitude make her an essential part of the team, supporting both staff and clients with a smile.

Jenni
Emerging Stylist
Jenni is an emerging stylist with a passion for hair and a natural talent for creating beautiful, polished results. She originally completed her hairdressing training in 2013 and has recently returned to the industry, inspired by a more natural and conscious approach to hair care.
Working across all hair types—including straight, wavy, and curly hair—Jenni is especially known for her blow-dries. She loves creating smooth, voluminous finishes as well as enhancing natural texture with a soft, effortless feel.
With a warm and bubbly personality, Jenni creates a relaxed and friendly salon experience. She loves a good chat and makes every client feel comfortable in her chair, bringing both care and attention to every service.
